The story of the Seven Sisters Silver and Gold Story Earrings depicts an ancient First Nation Story about the Milky Way as painted by Gary Simon Jagamarra, a living story which begins:
- At sunset, when the night’s first star, Venus, is seen leaping into the sky, it is represented as a solitary sphere.
- Followed by six 9-carat gold stars, which clustered together form the constellation of Pleiades. Finally, the seventh gold star, always separated, is followed into the night by the morning star (also known as Venus) just before sunrise.
