AUSTRALIAN STORIES
SilverDreaming creates handcrafted Australian jewellery designed and inspired by Australia’s nature and ancient storytelling. With a passion for preserving our unique environment, SilverDreaming donates 5% off the sale price to Australian environmental causes.
This uniquely Australian jewellery collection includes distinctive rings, earrings, and bracelets in silver, rose, and yellow gold, handcrafted to represent Australia’s unique beauty and storytelling in the form of wearable art.
SilverDreaming creations are all created by hand, so there are always perfectly imperfect variances to each piece; no two creations are exactly the same.
SilverDreaming has proudly partnered with Gary Simon Jagamarra to recreate his artwork, The Seven Sisters Milky Way Dreaming, in the form of wearable art now depicted in hand-crafted earrings, rings and bracelets.
About Gary Simon Jagamarra
Gary was born on the 3rd of June 1971 at the gem field in Clermont, central Queensland. He researched his Aboriginal background in his late teens to discover his heritage and identity. His father is believed to be from the Biripi tribe of Northern New South Wales. In 1996, Gary was adopted by a senior elder of the Central Desert, Rex Granite Japanuka, from the Warlpiri Tribe, Northern Territory. He was given the Aboriginal skin name of Jagamarra (Snake Dreaming) and has since learnt all the stories, songs, ceremonies, and dances associated with the Warlpiri people. Gary’s skin group totem is the snake, which means he cannot eat it. His duty is one of care, and he has devoted his life to learning and maintaining the Dreamings of his ancestors according to Aboriginal law. Jagamarra has trained as a jeweller and paints using acrylics on canvas to tell his stories. They are aerial depictions following the traditions of his ancestor’s works in the sand, as Aboriginal law and ceremony are fundamental to Jagamarra. This is prevalent in his works and devotion to his dreaming stories.

THE TECHNIQUE
SilverDreaming ‘s first Australian jewellery designs began with miniature wax sculptures. This ancient form of jewellery making is called the lost wax process.
Every new design SilverDreaming uses different techniques and constantly evolves. Every creation has been designed, made and hand-finished in Australia, ensuring that each creation is a piece of unique Australian Wearable Art. STAY IN TOUCH and be the first to see SilverDreaming ‘s new collections
Vickie Yorke
Vickie has been involved in the art world for many years. As a self-taught plein air painter, she developed a passion for recreating Australia’s landscapes and fauna. In 2011, she launched Silver Plume Gallery in Double Bay, Sydney, a Native American Jewellery and Australian Indigenous Art Gallery.
One day, artist and jeweller Gary Simon Jagammara walked into the gallery, and the idea of Australian storytelling in the form of Jewellery was born. In collaboration with Gary and inspired by his artwork, the Seven Sisters Milky Way Dreaming, Vickie instantly knew she wanted to tell Australian stories in the form of Australian Jewellery.
